Visual Metaphor

Visual Metaphor are the ramblings of an engineering student up in University of Waterloo, Canada. My favorite rants are about philosophy, morality, religion, technology, society and culture with the occassional psychedelic poetry

D/C

Just been thinking. We humans don't like doubt. Whenever we are in a "state of doubt"; we feel incomplete, down and sometimes depressed. Its self-defeating. Even if it is necessary to approach truth.

Certainity. The opposite. We thrive on it. Love is certainity. Knowledge is certainity. Faith is certainity. Certainity uplifts us and leads to happiness (not implying its a root cause or anything). I don't mean to say, that the love, the knowledge or the faith are "true".

Truth isn't what makes us happy, its our belief in the certainity of the "truth". We are more comfortable believing in the certainity of 1 + 1 = 2, than doubting it.

Why does organized matter that is self-aware like certainity when its make-up completely opposes it (in the form of particles; Quantum physics)?

Believing in certainity of something we know might possibly be inconsistent from what we make it; but refuse to acknowledge the possiblity or even be aware of it at times! There's a word for that, written in a novel 50 or so years ago: Doublethink (1984)

i like hidden and double meanings. Its so dastardly.
